Classical Mythology

This course introduces students to the major myths of Greco-Roman antiquity as they are expressed in different genres and media in the ancient world. Students will become acquainted with a full range of ancient gods and heroes while also exploring the various ways they were represented. Consideration will also be given to different modern frameworks for interpreting myth, its relationship to cultural imagination, and its role in religion and cult.
