Selected Topics in Solid-State Electronics - Quantum Semiconductor Devices
As our understanding of semiconductor materials and technology have advanced, it has become possible to build devices whose operation depends explicitly on quantum mechanics. At the same time various quantum effects (often unwanted) have become important in more conventional devices. This course will explore how quantum mechanics can affect the operation of semiconductor devices and ways to take advantage of various quantum effects.
