Environmental Decision Making
Use of scientific data and arguments in formulating environmental policies, international development, poverty reduction, economic growth, conflict, and risk assessment.

Reading/Writing assignments:
Course readings are drawn from scientific articles, web-based data sets, Congressional hearing records, government reports and media accounts. Weekly class exercises, a written proposal for an environmentally-sustainable economic development project.
Requirements/Grading:
Mid Term Exam - 20%
Final Exam - 40%
Papers - 40%
Other information:
Full day field trip offered on two dates will replace one week of classes. This course does not count toward your GEO requirements.
