Beginner's Italian I

To develop the skills of speaking, understanding, reading and writing Italian. The main emphasis is on oral drill and conversation in the classroom. Aspects of Italian culture and civilization will be touched upon.


Reading/Writing assignments:
Weekly assignments include: one grammar chapter from book, oral drills, written exercises, compositions; and one-hour test every other week.

Requirements/Grading:
Mid Term Exam - 15%
Quizzes - 30%
Papers - 10%
Class/Precept Participation - 30%
Other (See Instructor) - 15%

Prerequisites and Restrictions:
No credit given for ITA 101 unless followed by ITA 102..
