Beginner's Italian II

Further study of Italian grammar and syntax with increased emphasis on vocabulary and idiomatic expressions. Skills in speaking and writing (as well as understanding) modern Italian will also be further developed. Some aspects of Italian culture and civilization will be touched upon.

Reading/Writing assignments:
Two or three grammar lessons from textbook each week. Weekly readings of contemporary Italian short stories/articles and conversation. One-hour test every other week. Five written compositions and two oral examinations.

Mid Term Exam - 10%
Other Exam - 15%
Quizzes - 40%
Papers - 10%
Oral Presentation(s) - 10%
Class/Precept Participation - 15%
