Intensive Intermediate and Advanced Italian

ENROLLMENT BY APPLICATION OR INTERVIEW. DEPARTMENTAL PERMISSION REQUIRED.

Italian 102-7 is an intensive double credit course designed to help students develop an active command of the language. Reading comprehension and oral proficiency as well as reading skills and grammatical accuracy will be developed through various activities. A solid grammatical basis and awareness of the idiomatic usage of the language will be emphasized. Students will be familiarized with various cultural aspects of Italy through readings, cultural videos, and films.

Reading/Writing assignments:
Weekly assignments include one or two grammar lessons, including audio practice in the language lab, two readings (5 pages), one composition, and one hour-long quiz. During the course of the semester there will be also an oral interview with the instructor and two oral presentations.

Mid Term Exam - 10%
Quizzes - 25%
Papers - 15%
Oral Presentation(s) - 20%
Class/Precept Participation - 20%

Prerequisites and Restrictions:
ITA 101 and Permission of Instructor..

Equivalent Courses:
ITA 1027, ITA 107 are considered equivalent courses and cannot be taken multiple times for credit.
