Special Topics in Civil and Environmental Engineering - Design and Construction of Environmental Sensors

This class is an introduction to physical computing using the Arduino platform, with the goal of developing environmental sensors that talk to the internet over cellular networks. You will learn to develop computer code and wire electronics, as well as learn the nuts and bolts of the internet, including linux utilities, mysql, python, and sms.

Reading/Writing assignments:
20-30 pages of reading a week and writing assignments in the form of computer code and final project documentation.

Requirements/Grading:
Design Project - 40%
Problem set(s) - 60%

Not Open to Freshmen.
