This course focuses on clinical depression, utilizing it as a model topic for scientific discourse. This topic is ideal for this purpose because it intersects a broad range of issues. The course focuses on a neurobiological approach to this personally and societally important subject. Topics range from the molecular to the clinical.

Reading/Writing assignments:
Reading assignments will consist of approximately 60 pages of scientific journal articles and technical book chapters per week

Requirements/Grading:
Papers - 20%
Term Paper(s) - 30%
Class/Precept Participation - 50%

Open to Juniors and Seniors Only.

Prerequisites and Restrictions:
PSY 208 or 258, or MOL 209, or 211 or 214 AND Permission of Instructor.
