Principles of Computing and Connectivity
This class is an exploration of the basic technologies that form the basis of modern computing, wireless and internet systems. It will cover an understanding of the basic principles involved in the different technology areas and show how these can be combined to yield powerful systems. Student papers will include social, business and economic aspects of these technologies. ELE22B is the lab version of the class, and will include three laboratory projects covering semiconductor, computing and communication technologies.

The course will be graded on classroom participation (10%), 6-8 assignments including a research component (40%), laboratory projects (25%) and one end term paper (25%). In addition to the technology aspects, this paper may include societal, business and economic issues.

Paper in lieu of Final - 25%
Lab Reports - 25%
Class/Precept Participation - 10%
Problem set(s) - 40%
