Spring 2008-2009ELE 396
Introduction to Quantum Computing
This course will introduce the basic postulates of quantum mechanics and develop the concepts underlying the theory of quantum information. Some of the important algorithms will be discussed, as well as physical systems which have been suggested for quantum computing.

Weekly problem sets. 10 pages of reading per week.
Requirements/Grading:
Mid Term Exam - 30%
Final Exam - 40%

Not Open to Freshmen.
Prerequisites and Restrictions:
A previous quantum mechanics course will not be required. Requires sophomore linear algebra at the level of Math 202, 204, 217 or the equivalent..
