To understand Man's changing interpretations of Nature as seen in gardens and landscape architecture, pastoral poetry, and landscape painting.

Reading/Writing assignments:
Reading assignments from 60 to 150 pages per week. (Also study of digital images). Course requires about 4 to 5 hours weekly preparation.

Class/Precept Participation - 15%

Prerequisites and Restrictions:
Recommended to have some previous study of history, philosophy, history of art or architecture, or literary criticism..
