Intensive Elementary Chinese

Chinese 103 is designed for students who already have some familiarity with spoken Mandarin or any Chinese dialect. This course will emphasize the integration of the four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Reading/Writing assignments:
There will be a weekly written assignment and quiz, as well as oral exercises. Two to three lessons will be covered each week. Students need to prepare for the lessons, listen to audio tapes, and prepare for class discussion about the topics raised in the text. Student will read 4 pages per week.

Mid Term Exam - 10%
Final Exam - 20%
Quizzes - 30%
Class/Precept Participation - 15%
Other (See Instructor) - 25%

Other Requirements:
CHI 103 not allowed if CHI 101 or 102 taken.
