Microeconomic Theory

This class is about markets. When do they work? When do they fail? and what can be done about it? Over the course of study we will cover (1) choices made by consumers and firms, (2) competitive equilibrium and (3) market failures. The class will also touch on game theory and information economics.

Reading/Writing assignments:
40 pages of reading per week. Approximately 8 hard problem sets.

Mid Term Exam - 30%

Prerequisites and Restrictions:
ECO 100 and MAT 103.

Equivalent Courses:
ECO 300, WWS 300, ECO 310 are considered equivalent courses and cannot be taken multiple times for credit.
