Advanced Topics in Computer Science - Computer Vision Research Skills

This course will focus on developing a range of skills necessary for successful PhD-level research in computer vision and related fields. Each student will design and execute a semester-long computer vision research project. These projects will be used as a platform to (1) guide discussions on the effective selection and scoping of research topics, (2) read and analyze recent related computer vision literature, (3) improve written and oral scientific presentation skills, (4) develop strategies for effective peer review, and more.

Prerequisites and Restrictions:
COS 429 or equivalent.

Other information:
The course is aimed at junior PhD students but will be useful to all students doing graduate-level research work in computer vision.
