Advanced Topics in Computer Science - Information Privacy Technologies

Arvind Narayanan

Analyzes privacy technologies - both their power and limitations - and effectiveness of interdisciplinary approaches. Covers technical topics such as cryptography and anonymity (including Tor and Bitcoin) and thinks critically about their place in society. Reviews what law, economics, and policy have to say about privacy technologies. Students will choose a technical (programming-based) or policy (essay-based) project according to their background.

Other Requirements:
Not Open to First Year Undergraduates.
