Senior Independent Work

Senior Thesis Course. The student has the opportunity to do a self driven project by proposing a topic and finding a faculty member willing to supervise the work, or, the student may do a project in conjunction with a faculty member's research. A second reader will be required for both the midterm report and final thesis report. Students will be required to enroll in ELE 498 in the spring.

Reading/Writing assignments:
The student is expected to average at least six to ten hours per week on the project and make regular progress reports to the adviser.

Open to Seniors Only.

Prerequisites and Restrictions:
For each project the structural deadlines and evaluations are set in consultation with the faculty advisor. A poster session during Reading Period (as per departmental schedule) and written midterm report will be required submission to both the adviser and second reader, the due date determined by adviser. A senior thesis presentation will be held at the end of spring. The unbound senior thesis must be turned in to the ELE Undergraduate Office on the University's established senior thesis submission deadline. EE students only..

Other information:
Grading is done by individual project advisers and the second reader.
