Alfred Bendixen

The development of American literature from the end of the Civil War to the start of the Great Depression: the rise of realism, naturalism, and modernism. Emphasis on the artistic achievement of such writers as James, Twain, Chopin, Wharton, Cather, Eliot, Hemingway, and Fitzgerald.
