Elementary Japanese I

An intensive introduction to modern Japanese stressing oral-aural facility, but including an introduction to written Japanese.

Reading/Writing assignments:
The course covers chapters 1 thru 8 of the textbook "Nakama". Each chapter includes about 40 pgs. of reading, 15 pgs. of listening assignments, 15 pgs. of grammar homework, 10 pgs. of kanji homework.

Requirements/Grading:
Mid Term Exam - 15%
Final Exam - 15%

Prerequisites and Restrictions:
No credit is given for JPN 101 unless it is followed by JPN 102..
