Jeffrey S. Hammer

DEPARTMENT CONSENT IS REQUIRED TO ADD THIS CLASS

This workshop will analyze problems such as teacher and health worker absenteeism, the "leakage" of funds from legislatures to schools, clinics, roads, etc. Using surveys developed over the past decade as well as theoretical and empirical studies in the literature, the workshop will analyze the magnitude of the implementation and leakage problem in India, and propose potential solutions. Most likely the "client" will be "Accountability India", a non-profit based in Delhi, which has conducted surveys in various places across India.
