Introduction to Cognitive Neuroscience

Yael Niv

An introduction to cognitive brain functions, including higher perceptual functions, attention, language, memory, learning and decision making and executive functions of the frontal lobe. Major neuropsychological syndromes (e.g., agnosia, amnesia) will be discussed. Labs will involve hands-on experience with behavioral experiments, fMRI, EEG and computational modeling, including design of the experiment, analysis etc.

Reading/Writing assignments:
Reading: Approximately 50 pages per week.

Prerequisites and Restrictions:
NEU/PSY 258 or permission of instructor.

Equivalent Courses:
NEU 259B, NEU 202, NEU 202A, NEU 259A are considered equivalent courses and cannot be taken multiple times for credit.
