Text as Data: Statistical Text Analysis for the Social Sciences (Half-Term)

A survey of approaches to statistical text analysis with a focus on applications in the social sciences. The course covers supervised learning, clustering, topic modeling and scaling.

There are three main types of assignments for this course: readings (must be done before class), 2-3 page proposals, and commenting on other student's proposals.

This half-term course meets from 2/7/19 - 3/14/19. Grading is based upon participation, short response papers, and responses to other student's papers. Open to undergraduate students.
