Studies in Spanish Language and Style

An intensive, four-week immersion course in Spanish language and culture. This course is designed for students who have completed their Spanish language requirement and wish to improve their fluency and accuracy in spoken and written Spanish. By examining in detail the work of Spanish artists and current social and political issues, the course also seeks to enable students to understand and interpret Spanish culture and society.

Reading/Writing assignments:
There will be approximately 80-100 pages of reading per week (language and culture). Students will contribute to a course blog, as well as work on an individual and a group project involving both written assignments and oral presentations.

Papers - 30%
Oral Presentation(s) - 30%
Class/Precept Participation - 15%
Other (See Instructor) - 25%

Other Requirements:
International Travel Required
Not Open to Seniors.

Prerequisites and Restrictions:
Open to students who placed out of or completed the Spanish language requirement in addition to instructor's permission/interview..

Equivalent Courses:
SPA 207S, SPA 207 are considered equivalent courses and cannot be taken multiple times for credit.

Other information:
This class will meet from 6/1/2019 to 6/29/2019. More detailed information on department's website. This course is equivalent to SPA 207 and only one or the other can be taken.
