Intensive Fourth-Year Modern Chinese II in Beijing

A four-week summer intensive language course taught in Beijing, China, which is a continuation of CHI 405C. Continued readings and discussion on academic written materials and scholarly writings on literature. This course also exposes students to the social issues China has faced in recent years while discussing various aspects of contemporary Chinese society. Prerequisites: CHI 405C or equivalent. The course consists of five two-hour classes and five two-hour drill sessions weekly, plus individual tutorials.

Reading/Writing assignments:
Approximately 3-4 pages of reading and 200-600 characters of written homework will be assigned each day.

Other information:
This class will meet from 7/22/19 to 8/16/19. Dictations will be given daily and will count for the "Other" 10% of your final grade.
